This page is the primary pointer page for the Chi-Rho Association. A registered student (and staff) organization providing information to members of the UW community who worship primarily at off-campus Catholic Parishes.

Student/Faculty/Staff Survey and Interest Inventory:

If you regularly or occasionally worship at an off-campus Catholic church in Madison, Wisconsin, and

are regardless of age a student, a member of the faculty or staff at any of the post-secondary educational institutions (UW, MATC, WESLI, Edgewood, etc.) in the area, or if you are
regardless of school affiliation or lack thereof some where in the range, very approximately, of 17 and 40 years of age

The Chi-Rho Calendar: This is a calendar containing a list of events on and off campus which may be of particular interest to campus Catholics. UW-Madison student, faculty, staff, and other with a UW NetID should be able to view the calendar by going to
http://my.wisc.edu
, logging in, selecting "WiscCal" from the menu bar, and then selecting the View Agendas icon. You will need to search for "CHRH," and then select "Chi-Rho Common Calendar." Add this to your favorites.

You should get a long event listing.
A couple of notes:
* The last number pair, (-14, 120), controls the range of dates displayed. You can adjust this yourself to get a different range. For example, (-1,30) would give you events from the day before the query to 30 days after.
* Not all events are entered yet. If you know of events that probably should be entered, let me know.
* Unfortunately, it is not possible to get a true "calendar view" this way. However, people with UW NetID's should be able to view the calendar as a calendar using the procedure I described earlier. (If you try, and cannot, let me know).

Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration in the city of Madison is a reality! This is being conducted in the downstairs chapel in Holy Redeemer Catholic church. The chapel is open to the public from 7 AM to 9 PM. If you wish to come outside of these times, please contact the parish office to arrange to obtain an electronic access card.

Need to get to Mass? A list of campus area Roman Catholic Churches and their Mass and event schedules, along with other Mass and activity locations. As this includes a map, you may want to temporarily disable image loading if you do not want the map, or if the network is slow.
A schedule of expositions of the Blessed Sacrament. A number of parishes now have scheduled times when the Body of Christ in the consecrated host is exposed for adoration. This practice was re-introduced to the city of Madison by and at Holy Redeemer Church a number of years ago (approximately late 1997) through the initiative of her then-pastor, Fr. Kevin Holmes.

What is the Chi-Rho Association?

For starters, you might try looking at the charter. The Association does not actually have members in the usual sense, as it consists of a small group of people who disseminate information about and occasionally organize activities which will be (we hope) of benefit to souls.
